Hello hello friends! We have SUCH a relevant conversation today but before I get into the GOOD stuff, I’ve gotta kick this episode off with some GOOD. FREAKING. NEWS. 🗞

THIS FRIDAY we open enrollment for SUMMER in The Sisterhood Membership !!! If you’ve been around here for awhile you know that we only open The Sisterhood Membership FOUR times a year and May 24th thru June 2nd is your window to join us for the SUMMER SEASON.

This season is all about YOUR MONEY MINDSET - LEVELING UP OUR BELIEFS, HABITS, + BEHAVIORS SURROUNDING MONEY

LET’S BE REAL BC MONEY IS A FULLY LOADED TOPIC, RIGHT?!

“Positive thinking” + “WOO WOO affirmations” will not change the numbers in your bank account.
And having all the riches in the world isn’t necessarily the key to happiness, either.
But leveling up the way you VIEW + STEWARD your resources CAN CHANGE YOU.
And when you change + strengthen YOU, it changes + strengthens how you respond to everything else - even + esp your habits, behaviors, + beliefs surrounding money.

WE ALL HAVE A UNIQUE RELATIONSHIP WITH MONEY. WE ALL FACE FINANCIAL STRESS. AND WE ALL WANT AN ABUNDANT LIFE.

THE QUESTION IS…
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

THIS SEASON I WILL GIVE YOU TOOLS + RESOURCES TO HELP YOU…

▫️assess your current money mindset

▫️peel back your beliefs about money + the psychology behind it

▫️develop a growth based mindset surrounding money without woo-woo affirmations

▫️visualize your ideal financial situation + set goals to move towards her

▫️explore how to be mindful with your money + learn how to track your spending + savings

▫️become a generous steward of the resources you have, no matter your financial situation

SO…IF YOU’RE READY TO LEVEL UP YOUR MONEY MINDSET, BE SURE TO GET ON MY VIP WAIT LIST.

Okay. Okay. Off my soap box…let me transition into today’s conversation…

So often in my journey I would look at other women who were doing what I desired and time and time again I would stop myself before I started bc I couldn’t do it like “HER.” Don’t get me wrong…I’d be INSPIRED by her, but the narrative in my mind was often something like “I don’t have the time she has” or “I don’t have the kind of money she has.” And this way of thinking would stop me.

So much in my journey has become about my MINDSET and what’s going on between my ears. I’ve had to look at scarcity and really work to find abundance and opportunities. And it’s wild. What you see today has been ME looking at other women and saying “WOW…if SHE CAN, maybe I could, too.” Instead of being trapped + paralyzed by her example, I would be inspired to try on my own. And that’s where I want to inspire you today.

Her success as a podcaster showed me that there was a road for me to go down, too.
Her success in hosting retreats showed me that I could try my own spin on it.
Her success in building a membership showed me there was a NEED for community and I could fill that gap with my gifts and passions.

Her success didn’t take away from mine. It amplified it.

SO LET’S TALK SCARCITY MINDSET.

When I think of a scarcity mindset I picture a pizza. Imagine it with me. You have this delicious margarita pizza with fresh tomatoes and basil, a fresh tomato sauce, and just the right amount of mozzarella. Naturally we cut it into slices to share, right? As everyone brings their plates over and begins to take a slice or two, there’s less and less remaining. And if you’re anything like me, as the slices start to go, you start to get worried that the pizza is going to run out and you won’t get any. This is scarcity. The fear that there isn’t enough to go around.

And it doesn’t have to be pizza -

Maybe it’s the fact that you haven’t gotten a raise in 10 years so you think the salary you are earning is all there is.
Maybe it’s watching your friends announce their pregnancies and you get angry bc “maybe you’ll never get your chance.”
Maybe it’s seeing someone on social create the very thing you want to do, but you’re so worried about being awkward and new so you never actually start.

So many of us hold ourselves back because of the way we THINK about what’s possible for ourselves. SO often we close ourselves off and live in a box of what we believe we can do, can earn, or are capable of. And we don’t look at what ACTUALLY is possible, but the mindset behind what we’ve BELIEVED is possible. Abundance, on the other hand, is an overflowing way of viewing the world. It’s seeing OPPORTUNITIES and OPTIONS instead of dead ends. It’s seeing that pizza. And maybe a slice has been taken. But instead of thinking “I’ll never get any” the abundant mindset thinks “I wonder what the recipe is so we can make more.” You see where I’m going with this? Just bc that ONE pizza is gone doesn’t mean there isn’t an opportunity out there for MORE PIZZA. Right?

Whatever that thing is that you feel like if you don’t get “your slice” you might never get it…that’s where scarcity is lingering. Scarcity can linger in the lack. And this causes us to hold so tightly to the things we have that we barely have room to let anything new in. Ya know?

But scarcity also hides inside of competition. Where the world feels FILLED UP and you feel like you missed your shot. This is where we sit in jealousy and that constant feeling of insecurity.

Let’s use the same pizza from before, but instead of pizzas let’s picture the restaurants. Think about where you live. If you wanted to order pizza this weekend would you only have one place to call? Probably not. I can think of 6 or 7 places off the top of my head and to take it a step farther and prove my point…I did an Apple Maps search of pizza restaurants in a two mile radius of my house and 25 places popped up.

TWENTY FIVE, ya’ll.

And ya know what? They all make, serve, and sell pizza. Crust. Sauce. Toppings.

Scarcity says “I can’t open a pizza restaurant bc there are already 25 in my neighborhood.” Abundance says “I love pizza. I have a passion for pizza. And no one has my exact talents, skills, and life experience to do pizza the way I will. Whatever is missing, I trust that I can figure out the rest.”

Again. It’s most likely not a passion for a pizzeria.

But it could be that side hustle, but there’s like a thousand other people selling the same thing and you feel small and unseen.
Maybe you want to create a digital product or a course, but you know there’s plenty of people out there doing the same thing.
Maybe you wanted the promotion but someone else got it so you think there’s nothing left for you.

Whatever it is, scarcity is going to tell you “I’m not her so I can’t” or “She must be lucky and I’m not” or “She already did it so why even try.” And this matters, friends because -

OUR EMOTIONS LEAD to our thoughts →
our thoughts dictate our actions →
our actions become our habits →

…and if you show me your habits...I’ll show you your life.

YOUR JEALOUS LEADS TO THINKING SHE HAS SOMETHING YOU DON’T.
YOUR THINKING SHE IS MORE EQUIPPED LEADS YOU TO NOT EVEN TRY.
AND YOU NOT TRYING BECOMES A HABIT OF GIVING UP ON YOUR DREAMS BEFORE YOU EVEN START.

IDK about you but that’s not the process I want to go down. I want an ABUNDANT LIFE with blessings and overflowing opportunities. A life where I look back and have zero regrets, knowing I couldn’t have given it a fingernail more. And in order to do this, I have to check my mindset.

A SCARCITY MINDSET SAYS: "I'm afraid to take risks or try new things because I might fail."

AN ABUNDANCE MINDSET SAYS: "I embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Failure is just a stepping stone on my journey to success."

A SCARCITY MINDSET SAYS: "I don’t know how to do that, so I'll never be successful."

AN ABUNDANCE MINDSET SAYS: "I believe in my ability to learn and grow. With practice and dedication, I can develop any skill I desire."

A SCARCITY MINDSET SAYS: "I never have enough time. There's always too much to do, and I'll never catch up."

AN ABUNDANCE MINDSET SAYS: "I am capable of prioritizing what matters most and managing my time effectively. Not everything needs my YES."

A SCARCITY MINDSET SAYS: "If someone else succeeds, that means I’m not as good as them or I must be behind."

AN ABUNDANCE MINDSET SAYS: "Her success doesn’t diminish my own potential, it inspires me with what's possible."

A SCARCITY MINDSET SAYS: "Opportunities are rare and hard to come by. I must grab onto every chance, or I'll miss out."

AN ABUNDANCE MINDSET SAYS: "Opportunities are all around me and more will come my way, so I can choose the ones that align best with my goals and values."

I hope those examples help paint a picture of how you can begin creating an ABUNDANT NARRATIVE in your thoughts to help you break free from scarcity. But, I wanna leave you with a story from my own journey when it comes to scarcity and abundance to show you just how sneaky it can be.

Years ago I had a client who so desperately wanted to get pregnant and instead, she found herself having multiple miscarriages. It was a heartbreaking thing to witness being her mentor, but what was challenging on top of that, was that in our sisterhood community, she was also witnessing other women announce their pregnancies. She knew that I also wanted to be a mama someday just like her and that my journey has been challenging as well, but when these women would announce their pregnancies, our responses were very different.

She would see the announcement. Get upset (which was valid). Say nothing to the expecting mama. And retreat in isolation.
I would see the same announcement. Celebrate her in the most genuine way. And continue showing up in my journey.

One day she came to me and explained that she took notice of this. She wondered how in the world I could celebrate a woman’s pregnancy when it hurt that I didn’t have one of my own to announce. I simply told her that this woman’s pregnancy DID NOT MEAN that I couldn’t get pregnant one day. Her announcement didn’t take away from my ability to have my moment. There’s no cap to the amount of humans we’re creating, right? But what NOT celebrating her did was so much more damaging. Bc it took away from HER joy. It took away from HER moment. And I refuse to do that even if I’m hurting in my own journey. So I choose to celebrate, knowing that my turn will come when the timing is right. For me, I choose to believe that her success + celebration means it might just be possible for me, too. Maybe not in the same way or timing, but I keep the hope alive.

You see, friends, my clients view of these announcements was stuck in scarcity. It was saying "Every time I see someone else announce their pregnancy, it makes me feel like I will never get my own.”

And I know this is triggering. I know this friends. That’s why I’m so grateful I could walk beside her in her journey and show an example of an abundance based mindset bc your mindset MATTERS. It will make or break how you see and go thru life. There’s no pizza slice to this journey friends. There’s more than enough success. There’s more than enough possibility. There's more than enough time. It all comes down to the way you want to view it. Her success means it’s possible for YOU. And I know this is easier said than done, but that’s why we get these moments to connect and chat here about things like this.

This week, let’s PRACTICE being ABUNDANT in our thinking. Let’s remember that if the pizza slices run out, we can throw another in the oven. And let’s also remember that there’s 25 pizza restaurants in a 2 mile radius and I can bet that all of them have a loyal following even if they’re all serving up a version of the same thing. Let’s practice say “If she can do it, why not me?” and being INSPIRED by what she’s showing us instead of jealous and intimated. Let’s practice saying “I trust in my timing and there’s more ahead for me as long as I keep going” instead of allowing comparison to cause us to quit. I promise you, as challenging as it can be, it’s a WAY MORE REWARDING mindset to live from. And you’re so, so worth it.
